Standard of Care

Every conservative method will be considered and a complete plan of care focusing on patient education will be created.
  • State-of-the-art equipment and treatments, customized treatment plan for each patient.
  • Multidisciplinary team approach to care.
  • The physicians exhaust conservative treatments, including, physical and occupational therapy, manipulation, exercise and reconditioning, and medication, as appropriate, prior to surgical interventions.
  • Interventional Pain Management specialists work with patients who need more aggressive therapies including spinal injections and use of nerve and/or muscle stimulators to treat pain and assist healing.
  • Board certified orthopaedic and neurosurgeons with special training in care and treatment of the back and neck perform the full range of surgical procedures to treat all spinal problems; from minimally invasive surgeries to more complex spinal reconstruction.

Communication of Care

The Care Manager will ensure that you receive coordinated, comprehensive care and that there is direct communication with all involved parties.
  • Care Coordinator works with the physicians, therapists, patient and family members to coordinate all facets of care and treatment.
  • Whether there is a need to complete a disability form, obtain a return to work document, communicate with an employer or family physician; our Care Coordinator is here to support our patient.
  • The Coordinator will work with the patient throughout the process to assure prompt referrals, treatment and follow-up care.
  • Patients are involved in their own recovery. Spinal care is not a "spectator sport" at The Spine Care Center at MMI.
